What is Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)? Body Science CLA and is a naturally occurring free fatty acid sourced from natural plant oil (Safflower Seed Oil). In a 1 year study the health benefits of CLA are reported as reducing fat and preserving muscle tissue (Gaullier et al., 2004). A recent study compared the one-year effect of CLA on overweight individuals with a BMI of 25-30 which is borderline obese. Can I stack CLA with other products?
Yes. If you are looking for more dramatic and quick weight loss results, you could use Whey Protein, ThermonX Forte & Guarana in addition to CLA. CLA stacks well with Guarana. In a study (Experimental Biology Meeting, 2002) CLA alone was shown to cause a substantial decrease in fat mass, and for those who received CLA plus guarana, both fat cell size and number were decreased by 50%. Guarana is a herb that contains a form of caffeine called guaranine, which is 2.5 times stronger than the caffeine found in coffee, tea and soft drinks. What makes guaranine unique from caffeine found in beverages, is its slower release. That's because the guarana seed is fatty (even in powder form) and is not readily water-soluble. Would CLA result in a positive drug test?
No, CLA is not a drug or banned substance. In fact none of the ingredients in CLA are listed on the current World Anti Doping Association (WADA) prohibited list (WADA, 2004).
